Breaking Out the Seed

By James Jarvis

Spring is almost here… a time for new beginnings, clearing out the old and assessing our impulse for what’s next in our lives. Spring is about initiation; bringing the wisdom gained in the dark of winter into the light. This requires action: sharing more of who we are, breaking through whatever holds us back, and, like the seed, germinating our ideas for the coming year.

The full moon at 12 degrees Virgo 3/3, (3:18 p.m.) helps you clarify what your body needs to support emotional health. Use the positive qualities of Virgo, discernment and discrimination, to put your life and daily routine (exercise, nutrition and diet) into increasingly coherent order.

With Venus in Aries trine Jupiter in Sagittarius 3/7-9, there’s an opportunity for opening your heart and manifesting unconditional love for self and others. Take a look at your current ability to give and receive love. Remember that you are acceptable and loveable just as you are.
Jupiter in Sagittarius in positive relationship with Saturn in Leo 3/9-27 symbolizes the manifestation (Saturn) of our ideals (Jupiter). The key word here is sustainability. How can you balance or synthesize your expansive ideas with your practical ability to make things happen?
With Venus in Taurus 3/17-4/12, the focus this month is on loving your body and appreciating your sensuality. Give your body the gift of massage, a relaxing hot tub, a great hug session with your beloved or with your friends. Open your heart to loving and accepting your body just the way it is.

The New Moon at 28 degrees Pisces on 3/18 (6:43 p.m.) completes the Moon’s voyage around the zodiac. Going with the flow, immersing yourself spiritually and finding positive outlets for your compassion are all ways of tuning into this Moon cycle.

With Mercury in Pisces 3/18 - 4/10 it’s time to re-envision your dreams by accessing the imagined realm. Through imagination, all new possibilities are created. By allowing your imagination to lead at this time you can access new ways of being that you’ve never dreamed of before.

The Sun in Aries 3/20 (4:08 pm) heralds the Spring Equinox of equal days and nights. Aries is symbolized by the catalytic process and by acts of initiation and innovation. Your job during Aries is to empower others to become involved in whatever projects you are committed to leading.

When Mars in Aquarius opposes Saturn in Leo 3/21-23, you are being asked to learn how to manifest strong will without attachment to results. In other words, you are being challenged to let go of control (Saturn) of how you think things should turn out.

For Sun, Moon and Rising Signs

Aries (March 21-April 20) Your current focus on getting ahead in your career may conflict with relationship needs. Try to include your partner in decisions, and make time for nurturing the relationship.

Taurus (April 21-May 21) Time alone is essential for getting in touch with your needs. The hardest part is discovering what they are! Get centered and check in with your heart, and your needs will be revealed.

Gemini (May 22-June 20) You have access to a deeper level of truth this month. Your mind is very penetrating so be careful with your words. Pay attention to innovative ideas that are flooding in.

Cancer (June 21- July 20) Sacrificing is no longer an option! Your biggest task now is to allow more joy and expression into your life. Ask yourself this before saying yes: “will this activity truly give me joy?”
