A Month for New Starts and Making It Happen

The archetypal themes for this month are Initiation, Creation and Action. Numerologically, this March resonates with the vibration of the number 1 (2+0+0+5+3=10/1). The 10/1 month is a time for new beginnings. If you have wanted to begin a new project that you are really passionate about, now is the time to make it happen.

March 1-4 Mars in Capricorn is in a challenging relationship with Jupiter in Libra for the next few days. Try balancing your need to get things done (Mars) with your desire for harmony with others (Jupiter in Libra). Much can be accomplished if you take the needs of others into consideration.

March 4 Mercury in Aries helps us take initiative and leadership in the arena of communication through May 12. What is it that you need to communicate that will catalyze and empower others to act? What communications have you been putting off for fear of what others would think? Mercury in Aries emphasizes being the spiritual warrior in all areas of communication.

March 6-20 Jupiter in Libra flowing with Neptune in Aquarius increases our idealism and vision. Take some time to engage your imagination. You will find it easier to get in touch with a higher vision for your life at this time.

March 10 The new moon in Pisces completes the Moon’s voyage around the zodiac. With the new moon in Pisces, you can surrender to this process by letting go emotionally. Going with the flow, immersing yourself spiritually, and finding positive outlets for your compassion are all ways of tuning in to this moon cycle.

March 19 Mercury is retrograde in Aries until April 11, so “mindfulness” in all forms of communication is essential. Mercury retrogrades highlight wherever we are not skillful in our communications and where new skills need to be developed (see March 4 for more details).

March 20 The sun in Aries heralds the spring equinox of equal days and nights. Aries is symbolized by the catalytic process and by acts of initiation and innovation. Our job during Aries is to spring into action in new and innovative ways. Use your natural leadership and delegation skills to empower others to become involved in whatever projects you are committed to.

March 20 With Mars in Aquarius until May 1, the challenge is to focus your will on greater self-actualization. Mars in Aquarius calls you to break free of restrictions that keep you from manifesting greater authenticity in your life. Use Mars in Aquarius to break through old patterns of making yourself small so that no one will notice.

March 22 With Venus in Aries through April 15, take a look at how passion figures into your life. What do you get passionate about? What can you do now that increases your sense of aliveness? Try to be guided by your heart rather than your mind. By tapping into your passion you also tap into your dharma, that sense of mission or purpose that will give your life increased meaning and joy.

March 25 The full moon in Libra represents our need for cooperative, balanced and harmonious relationships with others. Look at where you are on the continuum between independence and dependence. The full moon in Libra calls you to balance your desire for intimate merging with your own needs for autonomy.

March 26 Pluto will be retrograde until September 1. Pluto retrogrades are times to reflect on how you use your personal power. Do powerful people make you uncomfortable? If so, then this may be a time to see if you are feeling disempowered in your life. Conversely, you can also discover how to increase your sense of personal power into more areas of your life.

ARIES (MAR. 21-APR. 20) Inspiration is achieved by looking within this month. Pay particular attention to your dreams and visions. They will guide you at the fork in the road that will lead you directly to your goal.

TAURUS (APR. 21-MAY 21) Community is an important outlet for your need for connection and intellectual stimulation. You are being asked to discover your “tribe.” Seek out like-minded souls that speak to your highest ideals and values.

GEMINI (MAY 22-JUN. 20) Your focus is on creating a solid financial plan for realizing your goals. Pay attention to what you truly value. Streamlining your life now will give you a new sense of freedom.

CANCER (JUN. 21-JUL. 20) Strength of will helps you take a stand for what you need in relationships. You are learning how to be diplomatic and firm at the same time. The quest for higher knowledge may fill your need for expansion.

LEO (JUL. 21-AUG. 22) Your ability to work cooperatively and diplomatically with others is enhanced this month. Joint partnerships or business ventures may appear suddenly and offer quick returns. Make sure all contracts are crystal clear.

VIRGO (AUG. 23-SEP. 22) New relationships appear that are exciting, stimulating and energetic. You are being asked to break out of old ways of relating. Seek out opportunities to stretch yourself and experiment with your personal edge.
