WALLA WALLA entrepreneur Patrick Carman self-published his children’s fantasy book “The Dark Hills Divide” to great local success. He visited dozens of local schools and made appearances at bookstores throughout the Northwest. Now his book has been picked up by Scholastic as a fantasy trilogy with the overall title “The Land of Elyon.” Carman will kick off his national book tour JANUARY 10, 7 p.m., at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park (206-366-3333). He will appear JANUARY 13, 6 p.m., at Queen Anne Books (206-283-5624) as he swings into a 22-city, four-month tour that starts here and finishes in New York, travelling to schools and bookstores in a special “Land of Elyon” tour bus.
