By adding the universal year 2004 (2+0+0+4=6) to the eighth month of August, we come up with the vibration of 14/5. The 5 month is a time for synthesizing all of the knowledge and experiences you’ve acquired over the last four months. Look to see what you have been learning and how this information may fit into a larger system of knowledge that you can then disseminate to others. The 5 month also signifies greater participation and possibilities in any media-related business: writing, speaking, teaching or promotion.
AUGUST 1-11 — TRANSFORM YOUR BELIEFS
Jupiter in Virgo is in a challenging aspect with Pluto in Sagittarius from August 1 to 11. Jupiter/Pluto transits are the fuel for changes in mass consciousness. With the trine between Jupiter and Pluto, we are becoming aware of the need to balance discernment (Virgo) with wisdom (Sagittarius). Use this transit to reexamine and reevaluate your fundamental beliefs.
AUGUST 7 — UNCONDITIONALLY NURTURE
With Venus in Cancer from August 7 to September 6, the emphasis this month is on finding ways to nurture others-and ourselves. Many associate the traditional nurturing quality of Cancer with that of the “smother mother,” the overbearing, codependent and disempowering nurturer. This month you have an opportunity to take a deeper cut at what nurturing can be. If you find that you are better at receiving than giving, take time this month to find out what really nurtures you. It will make it easier for you to unconditionally nurture others.
AUGUST 9-SEPTEMBER 1 — INTERNALIZE YOUR EXPERIENCE
Mercury retrograde in Virgo is a call for greater impeccability in our lives in the areas of speaking, writing, self-expression and following through on our word. Mercury retrograde in Virgo helps us to see, through external events, at what level our Mercury function (or throat chakra) is operating. If our communication skills are lacking in any area, this will be more than apparent when Mercury goes retrograde.
AUGUST 10 — STREAMLINE YOUR LIFE
Mars will be in the sign of Virgo from August 10 through September 26. Since Mars represents where we assert our will, in Virgo we focus our will on taking care of our daily routines. Where can we be more efficient in our lives? How can we be more organized and attend to the details of our lives? By making our lives more streamlined at this time, we can free up more energy to be of service to others. For many of us, the daily routines of our lives become so bogged down we find that we never have time to do the things that really make a difference.
AUGUST 12-14 — CHANNEL UNIVERSAL ENERGY
Venus in Cancer has an enlivening aspect to Uranus in Pisces August 12 to 14. Venus/Uranus provides an opportunity for opening our heart chakras by literally running high voltage through the heart. This is represented physically and etherically through the process of channeling universal energy (Uranus) through the heart chakra (Venus) as in Reiki. Allow Venus/Uranus to help you break free from any restrictions you may be feeling in your emotional expression.
AUGUST 16 — CELEBRATE YOUR INNER CHILD
With the new moon in Leo, the focus this month is on nurturing yourself through bringing out the child within. The inner child is the source of your creativity, spontaneity and enthusiasm. Bring a sense of play into your life by being willing to let go of your seriousness and self-consciousness.
AUGUST 19-23 — FOCUS YOUR WILL
Mars in Virgo will be in a challenging relationship with Saturn in Cancer from August 19 to 23. Mars is the planet representing the assertion of personal will, while Saturn represents the discipline required to bring things into form. The good news is that this transit is an opportunity to concentrate your willpower and accomplish a lot. The bad news is that Mars/Saturn energy can sometimes bring up frustration or the feeling that our actions are being blocked. A powerful way to use this transit is to see how you are blocking yourself from moving forward rather than blaming the obvious external forces that appear to be in your way.
AUGUST 30 — EMPOWER YOURSELF
Pluto, which has been moving in retrograde motion since March 24, will go direct again on August 30 at 19 degrees Sagittarius. Since Pluto in our birth chart represents where we tap into collective power or will, Pluto retrogrades are a time when we can reflect on how we are using our personal power. Do powerful people make you uncomfortable? Do you react strongly to any perceived misuse of power from those in your life? Do you often see in others a tendency to manipulate or control? If so, then the Pluto retrograde period may have been a time when you were looking at how you may be feeling disempowered in your life. Conversely, it may have been a time that you discovered and integrated how you could increase your sense of personal power into more areas of your life. Use the power of Pluto direct in Sagittarius to blow off the lid of repression and inhibition now!
AUGUST 30 — NURTURE YOURSELF SPIRITUALLY
On August 30 we have a full moon in Pisces, which asks us to tune into our desire to merge with Spirit. The full moon in Pisces is calling us to bring full awareness to the path of surrendering our sense of separation so that we can once again experience the bliss of unity consciousness. Use this full moon to nurture yourself spiritually through contemplation, meditation, flowing movement and music.
